Photography

From studying literature and art, I’ve grown comfortable with the meticulous process of creating work. “Killing my Darlings” is a comment on the subversion of my typical creative practice. Writing and photography allows me to control the result of my work. By water marbling my finalized prints, I’ve surrendered all artistic control over the finalized product.

This collection of photographs depicts how our DNA is left behind without thought. I started this series with the thought that our DNA can be traced back to us in so many ways. Saliva, blood, hair, skin, fingerprints, etc. Even the tread marks on our shoes are individual to us based on the wear and discrepancies in the treads. Evidence of our identity is everywhere.

Multiple Exposures of the Self

Our identity is an accumulation of the different sides our personality holds. The way we act differs depending on environment. We present different versions of ourselves each day, yet remain the same person. This body of work illustrates the self as an entangled form. Multiple exposures of the same subject in a singular image represents the multiple versions of one's self.
